What do you most like about consulting?

I enjoy working with amazing clients and colleagues. Like most of the world, I have now spent 2 years working from home. There are certainly good and bad considerations of working from home. On one hand, I’m happy to not be commuting each day but I recognize that my ability to work from home is a privilege not everyone enjoys. On the other hand, I miss running into people at the café or walking into a building and creating those impromptu relationships. Consulting has allowed me to work in many different industries and companies and each one has its own culture and feel when you walk into their space. It is much more difficult to pick up those cues when meeting with people virtually.

Tell us about your experience consulting through a pandemic.

The last two years at Forum have reinforced why it is the right place for me. We approached the pandemic with the focus to do the right things for our people and for our clients. We partnered with our clients to make sure we were supporting them in the way that was right for them. Our relationships are real and when our clients are struggling, we want to support them.  We also chose to put our people first and did not do any layoffs. When you read our website, you see our commitment to our home: “Rooted in Seattle - This is more than a market: it is our home. We create positive change here that ripples into the larger world.”

I am proud of the work we do, our commitment to our people and to our clients and look forward to the next 4 years.
